Outlaw Triathlon has announced an all-new middle-distance triathlon will be joining its ranks in 2022

The newest event in the now six-part weekend race series will take place in the grounds of Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, on 11-12 June 2022.

An initial 1.8km lake swim overlooked by the stunning Woburn Abbey will be followed by a 90km ride of the local Bedfordshire countryside, with the final half-marathon run exploring more of the beautiful surroundings.

The Woburn Estate is home to the 15th Duke and Duchess of Bedford and boasts a resplendent 17th-century abbey, safari park, deer park, golf club and lake on the grounds.

Charity tri for life will also be joining the 2022 series. Tri for life uses the sport of triathlon as a vehicle to raise money for a range of causes, having previously supported Great Ormond Street Hospital, Teenage Cancer Trust and Whizz Kidz, among others.

Race director Iain Hamilton said: “Woburn is an incredible location and we’re really pleased to have secured it for the sixth and final UK event in the Outlaw Triathlon Series. I’d like to thank everyone at the venue and tri for life for working with us to make this happen.”
