A new triathlon training camps venture based in the Italian Riviera resort of Riccione has been launched by Tri Cycle Sports. The camps will be aimed at all standards from the novice to elite and will offer participants the opportunity for structured coaching sessions in a stylish location with world-class facilities.

The first camp is set for Easter, with an option of five or seven-day breaks, and will be run by head coach Barry Jameson and organizer Paul Gittings.

Barry, who is a multi-World and British age group champion, is a BTF Level 3 coach and has twice been named north-east regional coach of the year.

Paul is also a European and British age group champion and has been competing in triathlons since 1985.

Tri Cycle Sports will be using the Hotel Fedora, which is a leading member of the Riccione Bike Hotels Group, as its base for the triathlon camp and will shortly be announcing details of cycle and duathlon camps in the autumn.

“Riccione offers multi-sports enthusiasts everything they could wish for with a fantastic swimming complex where Olympic legend Michael Phelps trained last year, six-lane municipal running track and endless seafront trails not to mention the challenging beauty of the Emilia Romagna region for cycling,” said Tri Sports founder Gittings.

“We want our participants to train hard but smart on our camps and at the same time enjoy the delights of Italian culture and lifestyle."

Places on the Easter Camp are limited and offered on a first-come-first-serve basis and partners are also fully catered for when booking through Tri Cycle Sports (www.tricyclesports.co.uk).

Prices start at £429 for an extended Easter break and include enhanced half-board accommodation and free transfers from Rimini Airport (five minutes away), Forli and Bologna, who are all served by budget operators
