This just in from One Step Beyond about Essex's Lakeside Triathlon...

If you haven’t signed up for this year’s Lakeside Triathlon yet then don’t delay! Our headline sponsor Decathlon, the world’s largest sports retailer, has kindly donated a fantastic B-Twin Facet 5 carbon framed road bike with SRAM Rival groupset and Mavic Aksyum wheels worth a total of £1299.99 for a free competitor prize draw.

Enter the Lakeside Triathlon before 30 April for your chance to win and ride it in the Lakeside Triathlon on 17 June at Lakeside, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres.

This unique and very exciting sprint triathlon, hosted by Lakeside and now in its third year, has been very popular with a really fast flat course that appeals to both the experienced and novice triathlete and offers lots of support on the day with the course overlooked by various viewing areas, bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Individuals & teams of three complete a 750m swim in Lakeside’s Alexandra Lake followed by a flat and fast 20km bike and a closed road sed5km multi-lap run, with the finish area situated outside the Marks & Spencer store. Entries, course maps and more information are now available from www.onestepbeyond.org/lakeside-triathlon.php

Event organisers One Step Beyond and Triathlon Racing Inc have arranged for race sponsor SwimforTri to provide coaching and course familiarisation sessions for participants at Alexandra Lake, Lakeside in the lead up to the event on Sundays 13 May and 3 June.

The sessions will be led by Speedo Advisory Coach and past 220 Triathlon magazine Coach of the Year Dan Bullock and the training programmes have been designed to be ideal preparation for both novices and experienced triathletes/swimmers.
