With the popularity of extreme obstacle course racing continuing to rise in the UK, we bring you photos of all the action from this year’s Tuff Enuff in Cornwall.
More than 400 stout competitors gathered last weekend at Treverven Farm, St Buryan, to test their strength, stamina, fitness and nerve on a 29-obstacle course down to St Loy’s Cove.
Highlights included a 183-step climb, a rope abseil over a 25-foot wall, a 70-foot waterslide and a section called The Graveyard, where competitors had to climb into a pit and crawl under a rack of suspended car tyres.
Cornishman Barrie Prowse, a 29-year-old Thai kickboxer from Penzance, took a well-deserved win after coming second in the inaugural Tuff Enuff race last May.
“The course was even tougher this time and after the steps up from the cove, I felt like a broken man,” said Barrie after the win. “However, all my training paid off and I was on good form. I can’t wait to do it again.”
Next year the organisers will be bringing the Tuff Enuff format to Dorset, with an event planned for the Isle of Portland on February 28, 2015. The next Tuff Enuff race at St Buryan will take place on May 24, 2015.For more information, head here.
