Race organiser Human Race has announced the dates for its 2013 Open Water swim series. Last year over 5,000 swimmers took to the great outdoors to swim in the sea, lakes and rivers of some of Britain’s most beautiful locations.

The series kicks off on 5 May with the Poole Spring swim which is always a much anticipated season opener. Other highlights include the popular Hampton Court Swim. The 2.25 mile downstream swim from Hampton Court Bridge to Kingston Bridge has become a ‘must do’ for anyone interested in open water swimming and is set to sell out quickly. Also, for those keen to tread the water of Olympic Gold medal winners, it’s worth noting two of the swims will take place at Olympic venue Eton Dorney.

Another popular calendar date is the Windsor Swim on 2 June, which includes distances from 750m to 3kms. Set in scenic Windsor on the River Thames, swimmers will start and finish the swim from the bank of Alexandra Gardens.

In addition to this, as part of the Women Only series, Human Race is offering the Women Only swim again in 2013. This is an ideal swim for those who want to avoid the rough and tumble and swim with other like-minded ladies in beautiful surroundings.

The Human Race Swim Series offers a range of distances from 500m to a mammoth 10km swim, so log on to www.humanrace.co.uk to choose the right one for you.
