Could this be the fastest-selling UK Ironman ever? Race spots went on sale this afternoon for the first Ironman 70.3 Staffs – and had all sold out within 14 minutes.

The race will be held at Shugborough Hall Estate on Sunday 14 June 2015, and promises a fast, flat course for athletes – the bike course was announced last week and features 627m of vertical ascent, considerably less than the 1,554m posed by Ironman 70.3 Wimbleball.

“We have had a phenomenal response from the moment we announced 70.3 Staffordshire,” said Dan James, race director. “The venue of Shugborough and the amazing backdrop of Staffordshire offers the perfect setting in every aspect."

If you didn’t manage to bag your race spot then don’t lose hope – there are guaranteed places available with a number of official charities including Macmillan Cancer Support and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (more details here).

And if you’re looking to race as part of a team, entries for the team relay category will open in October (pre-register here).
