As these pics show, this year’s British Triathlon Championships were held in very rough conditions in Liverpool last Sunday, with around 1,000 age-group athletes battling the elements for British titles and GB qualification spots at next year’s European Tri Champs.
World number one Gwen Jorgensen was racing later in the day, winning the elite races despite stiff opposition from British junior Sophie Coldwell. The men’s elite races later on were cancelled as the worsening conditions were deemed dangerous for the athletes.
