Veteran Olympians are set to ‘take the plunge’ at an exciting swimming event in Southampton this weekend, organised by sports retailer Decathlon and partnered with swim experts Speedo.

Commonwealth Champion Adam Whitehead and London 2012 Olympian and GB Men’s Waterpolo Captain Craig Figes will be attending two free swimming training sessions at The Quays Swimming and Diving Complex in Southampton, and will host a range of exciting activities as well as offering exclusive tips and training advice.

On Saturday is the ‘Big Summer Splash’ hosted by 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist Steve Parry, in which every participant will get the chance to try out a whole host of different activities. Ideal for junior triathletes aged between 7-11, this day is a great opportunity to find out more about the sport of swimming and to learn about the foundations of good technique.

Sunday’s event is called the ‘Get Speedo Fit’ day, and is designed for adults and over 16s. Here, participants will have the opportunity to try out a comprehensive range of Speedo products and take part in three 30 minute sessions focusing on either; technique, speed/endurance, strength and power.

Participants can try out training aids from the new Speedo Swim fitness range such as snorkels, flippers and kickboards and there will be a number of exciting giveaways from both Decathlon and Speedo across both days.

There are a limited number of places up for grabs at the two-day event and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

And if Southampton is little bit too far for you to travel, then worry not! The team will also be visiting the North West, starting in Warrington on 27th and 28th July followed by Stockport on 3rd and 4th August.
