British athletes Ritchie Nicholls and Eimear Mullan have joined a new collective called Ignite Team, following their recent departure from teamTBB.

Speaking exclusively to 220 Triathlon, team founder Dave Loughran said that both athletes have initially signed on for at least one year, under the tutelage of former ITU world champion Spencer Smith.

Nicholls will be concentrating on 70.3 racing this year, says Loughran, while Mullan is planning to make her debut at the Ironman World Championship in Kona this October.

Commenting on the recent shift to Ignite Team, Loughran said: "Its a tight knit team at the moment. I can't comment too much on TBB as I wasn't there, but the feeling I had last week was that they were far, far happier."

Both athletes will be racing on Viner bikes, developed with their input by former pro cyclist Jamie Burrows.
