If you’re planning to race in Hyde Park next year then you’d best get a wriggle on – entries have officially opened for the 2015 World Triathlon London, with more than 5,000 athletes expected to race.

Next year's event takes place on 30-31 May 2015 and will include Olympic, sprint and super sprint distance events for individuals and relay teams. For the first time, there will also be women-only waves in the sprint and super sprint distances.

Athletes will compete on the same course that Britain’s Alistair Brownlee won Olympic gold in 2012, and will finish in front of a packed grandstand next to the Serpentine lake. Here’s Alistair and Jonny on next year’s event:

Mario Mola (ESP) and Gwen Jorgensen won the elite races in Hyde Park this year, while Britain's paratriathletes scooped up four golds.
