Duathletes rev up for Oulton Park

Qualifying spots at ITU Sprint Distance Champs available

Places are filling up fast for the Oulton Park Spring Duathlon, being held at the famous motor racing circuit in Cheshire on Sunday 16th March.

With qualifying spots at the ITU Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain up for grabs, the sprint distance event (4.3km/21.6km/4.3km) is sure to attract a competitive field.

The standard distance race will involve an 8.6km run (two laps of the circuit), followed by a 38.8km cycle (nine laps), before finishing with one more run lap of 4.3km. The organisers add that lap counting technology is in place to ensure the correct number of laps are completed.

Entry costs are £42 for individual entries or £55 for team relay entries, including numbered racking and electronic chip timing. The start times are 9.30am and 12.30pm depending on your age group, and the prize giving takes place after the race.

The organisers have confirmed that entries are also open for the the Oulton Park Autumn Duathlon, which takes place on 5th October 2014 and is a qualifier for both the 2015 ETU Standard and Sprint Distance Duathlon European Championships.
