Looking for a last-chance opportunity to tie up the laces before the Christmas feasting begins? Zwift have got you covered. At 2:30pm on Christmas Eve, slip away from the family or persuade them to join you for a festive 5km run where you will be striding alongside the likes of Olympic Champion sir Mo Farah and 3x Ironman Champion and Olympian, Germany’s Jan Frodeno.
Don’t worry, this is for all abilities, so throw on your Christmas jumper and Santa hat and have some type 2 festive fun on Watopia. Zwift CEO, Eric Min says: "Doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your ability level is. These five kilometres across Watopia are open to everyone. See old friends. Make new ones. Head to Watopia on December 24 at 2:30 p.m."
How to take part
The Zwift app is free to download on iOS and Google Play, so all runners will be able to run for free without subscribing to the app. That said, in order to use the Zwift app on a treadmill, runners will need a Bluetooth enabled footpod, such as the Zwift RunPod, or a Bluetooth enabled treadmill.
