Chris McCormack to race Challenge Atlantic City

Aussie athlete heading to debut event

Australia's Chris 'Macca' McCormack is confirmed for the first Challenge Atlantic City triathlon next June – though there's no chance he will be lining up against Lance Armstrong.

Describing Atlantic City as a focus event for him in 2014, two-time Ironman World Champion McCormack said: "I am looking forward to it more than anything, it's been a long time coming."

McCormack hit the headlines recently after he invited disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong to race against him in a private, non-sanctioned triathlon, which drew this response from Armstrong.

While there is no confirmation on if – or when – their private race happens, McCormack will undoubtedly be training hard as he looks for a win in Atlantic City on 29 June, 2014.
