Calling triathletes of the future!

The 2012 Triathlon England - National Schools Championships, will take place on Saturday 16 June at Pingles Leisure Centre, Nuneaton.

With less than one week remaining for entries, this is your chance to be crowned English Champion and try a new challenge alongside your friends and classmates.

Jem Lawson, Chair of Triathlon England, said: “We are delighted to be holding this event in Nuneaton and can’t wait to see the next generation of athletes compete. Triathlon is growing from strength-to-strength, and the National Schools Championships will provide the perfect opportunity for any young athlete to be crowned English Champion in a year dedicated to sport.”

“It is our aim to get more young people active in triathlon, and we believe that events such as the National Schools Championships are ideal to improve awareness of the sport and ensure everyone who takes part has a fun and enjoyable experience.”

The Triathlon England - National Schools Championships is a simple competition to enter that is open to teams of four, consisting of two boys and two girls. Teams will be competing across three age groups based on school years: Years 7-8, Years 9-10, and Year 11.

While this is the official format of the Championships, if this requirement can’t be met then Triathlon England encourages entry of alternative teams*. The Triathlon England - National Schools Championship is an inclusive event, with the course suitable for athletes with disabilities.
