The other two nominations are British Cycling and English, Scottish and Welsh Rugby Unions. The winner will be announced at the UK Coaching Awards evening on 3 December.

Meanwhile, Melissa Reid – 2013 World Champion paratriathlete in the Tri6b category – has also been nominated for Young Coach of the Year.

2013 has been a stellar year for British triathletes and paratriathletes: Non Stanford won WTS gold in London while Jonathan Brownlee won silver in the men’s race, losing out to Spain’s Javier Gomez in a thrilling dash for the line.

Britain’s age-group team won 12 golds in the sprint finals and eight golds in the standard-distance finals, and the paratriathlon team won six gold medals in the Paratriathlon World Championships.
