Three new sub £500 bikes launched by the Brit brand

Boardman Bikes has added three new entry level models to its Performance Series line-up - all priced at under £500.

The competitively priced new bikes have been designed by Chris Boardman and are aimed at ‘the discerning rider who is just getting into the world of cycling’.

The Boardman Road Sport has a 7005 double-butted aluminium frame with carefully considered tube profiles for a lightweight, strong, stiff and comfortable ride. With Shimano/FSA drive-train running on Mavic rims with powerful Tektro dual-pivot brakes, this bike is ideal for a rider tackling a triathlon, their first Sportif or any other road event. RRP: £499

The Boardman MX Race is designed to combine the best of both on and off road performance. Its lightweight double butted aluminium frame with multi discipline tuned geometry and 700c wheels ensures fast riding and the powerful Avid mechanical disc brakes and Suntour front suspension fork with lockout ensure controlled handling and a comfortable ride. RRP: £499.99

The Boardman Hybrid Race is aimed at leisure or commuter cycling. A lightweight double butted aluminium frame, 2x9 speed Shimano Acera drive train and powerful Avid V-brakes all add up to make this a superb bike for road riding, whether going to the office or riding just for fun. RRP: £429.99

The new Performance Series bikes will be exclusively available from over 200 selected Halfords superstores and at www.halfords.com, from Monday 12 December.
