With an itinerary that takes in all the same cities as this year’s World Triathlon Series plus Australia’s Gold Coast and also a possible tenth city, the 2015 WTS schedule looks like it will be quite a busy one.

The International Triathlon Union has just confirmed the following dates:

28-29 March - Auckland, New Zealand
11-12 April - Gold Coast, Australia
25-26 April - Cape Town, South Africa
16-17 May - Yokohama, Japan
Dates TBC - London, Great Britain
18-19 July - Hamburg, Germany
22-23 August - Stockholm, Sweden
5-6 September - Edmonton, Canada
15-20 September - Chicago, USA

The Gold Coast will appear for the first time since the Series’ creation in 2009, and a possible tenth city “could be added” to the calendar later in the year, says the ITU. After serving as this year's Grand Final host, Edmonton will serve as the penultimate stop on the Series schedule before Chicago closes out the year on September 15-20.

"We have an incredibly exciting season lined up for 2015," said ITU President and IOC Member Marisol Casado. "As we continue to evolve the sport of triathlon, the Series will be showcased in more countries than ever before and in regions of the world that is not regularly exposed to triathlon."

The final World Triathlon Series ranking score will continue to be obtained by adding the points gained in the ITU World Triathlon Series Grand Final plus the five best scores in the ITU World Triathlon Series events.
