Admit it, you want 2010 to be your best tri-year ever. So what better incentive do you need to attend the inaugural 220 Training Camps, brought to you in association with votwo, the events and adventure race specialists?

There are two separate camps, depending on your level – the 220 Iron Camp caters for those with plenty of tri experience under their belts, while the 220 Novice Camp does want it says on the tin, offering a friendly introduction to tri sport.

Both camps are to be held at Sandy Balls Holiday Resort in Hampshire’s beautiful New Forest. Aside from all the expert advice and opinions – from top coaches and athletes (the Xterra age-group world champions, Andy Blow and Eliot Challifour) – that your brain can handle, there’ll also be ample opportunity to put the theory into practice, whether on foot, on the bike or in the water.

The weekend will involve swimming (pool and open water), cycling and running sessions with a focus on technical skill development each day. In the evening there’ll be talks by the coaching staff and professional athletes on training preparation, nutrition, hydration and general pre-race personal admin, all geared towards fulfilling your tri ambitions.

Iron Camp

Taking place on the weekend of 14-17 May 2010, this camp is designed to give both Ironman virgins and seasoned racers a tough weekend to overload the body. Athletes will be split into two groups – ‘completers’ and ‘competers’ – with the content dictated by which group you’re in.

The cost is £295 per person for shared occupancy of a room, or £349 per person for single occupancy. A £100 deposit is required to make your booking, which is 50% refundable up to 14 March and non-refundable after that date.

Novice Camp

Taking place on the weekend of 21-24 May 2010, this camp is designed to give those new to the sport an intensive weekend of training, focusing on both the technical and physical aspects of each discipline.

The cost is £295 per person for shared occupancy of a room, or £349 per person for single occupancy of a room. A £100 deposit is required to make your booking, which is 50% refundable up to 21 March and non-refundable after that date. The balance is required by 21 April and the closing date to sign up is 14 May.
