New carbon-lined race suit marks a dramatic return to tri for swimwear giants Arena

As the images of Dave Scott at Ironman Hawaii ’94 in issue 297 of 220 show, Arena have a long heritage in tri.
Following a lengthy hiatus, the swimwear giants (and official partner of FINA) are now returning to tri with their new 2014 range. Alongside a solitary wetsuit, the line includes six tri-suits for both men and women, with the choice of both one- and two-piece suits available.
That £300 price tag comes from the inclusion of a carbon fabric lining that seeks to provide compression for the optimum core body position in the water, with carbon panels on the back and legs purporting to offer enhanced hydrodynamics.
