Review: Headstrong Posture Trainer swimming tool

This interesting-looking device is supposed to give insight into the ‘proper’ position for a swimmer’s head. The carefully shaped plastic tool is resistant to chlorine and UV light, making it durable in most pool training environments.

Using a plastic strap similar to that found on your goggles, the device is held on the back of your head and is cleverly shaped so that when the swimmer’s head is in the ‘proper’ position its tip should rest gently on the spinal cord at the base of the neck, so you can then feel if it moves away from this position.

The idea is great, however… the strap quickly snapped when putting the device on, it was difficult to fit around the heads of girls with pony tails, and its lack of flexibility in a ‘proper’ position fails to recognise that different head positions may be suitable for different swimmers.
