This shoe has good protection for its weight (approx 200g). The upper and layout of the lacing allow you to secure a good fit and feel your foot is locked in position for fast running.
The Hyper Speed 2 is primarily suited for shorter race distances but it packs a surprising amount of cushioning and spring into the heel and forefoot, which is ideal for longer races.
The flexibility is great, with a perforated midsole further aided by a soft rubber outsole at the forefoot. There’s some support and stability through the midfoot area but this really is a neutral shoe, so more severe overpronators will want more for running any real distance.
