Rudy Project Rydon

The Rydons utilise an optical hinge and metallic arms to provide a very solid-feeling frame. The long rubber earpieces are comfortable and can be easily manipulated to customise the fit.

The Rydons also benefit from being compatible with Rudy Project’s Rx insert system, enabling the use of their removable frame with prescription lenses. This works fantastically well in these glasses and is a market-leading removable prescription system.

The lenses are made from impactX – the same material used on Apache helicopter windshields – and can be easily interchanged if the photochromatic lenses tested here are unsuitable, but in our experience this is only necessary in the brightest of light conditions.

The testers agreed that these presented the best-performing photochromatic lens, responding quickly and seamlessly to UK light conditions.
