Review: SiS Go Energy Mini bar

Delivering 25g of carbohydrate and 4.5g of protein per 40g bar, SiS’s compact GO Energy Mini Red Berry flavour is designed to boost energy and help fuel both your training and racing endeavours.

The carbohydrate content is supplied by a blend of natural concentrated juices, red berries (25%), dates, oat flour and maltodextrin, while the added soya helps boost the protein content.

The low fat content (just 2g per bar) ensures that it’s easily and rapidly digested, and there are no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. It’s also competitively priced, especially when purchased in boxes of 30 for £27.

On test, the moist consistency and fruity flavour of the Go Mini was easy and enjoyable to consume, albeit it isn’t particularly berryish and doesn’t quite escape that powdery texture that tends to blight many energy bars.
