Cleaning your chain is a pain at the best of times, but a good chain-cleaner can make an arduous task a lot easier.

Muc-Off’s X-3 features a claimed 120 contact points (we really couldn’t count them) and comes with 75ml of Muc-Off’s own cleaning solution to get you started.

You squirt the solution into the top section of the device, attach the handle, then put the two halves together with your chain sandwiched in between.

Then simply turn the cranks, pressing the button on the top to release the cleaning solution. After 2–3 minutes the chain should emerge almost spotless.

It might seem expensive, but similar models from other companies will set you back a comparable amount.
