Selle San Marco Aspide Racing Triathlon saddle review
Saddles are a very personal thing, because there are a wide variety of different, ahem, behinds, and a similarly wide variety of saddles to suit. Some things are universal, though, and one of those is that, if you’re going for a traditional shape on a tri saddle, you need extra padding on the nose.
And this one has plenty, making it comfortable enough for long days out. Shape-wise it’s rather narrow at just 134mm, so keep that in mind if you prefer wider perches. The rails aren’t massively long, which could be an issue if you prefer an extreme position.
One thing we would’ve liked is a little more grip to stop you sliding around, although the curved body is a refreshing break from the many flat offerings out there. And if you’re after something light, it weighs in at just 189g.
Verdict: Light and well-priced, but we’d like a little more grip, 81%
