Campagnolo Chorus

Campagnolo has never been afraid to go their own way, but we’re not sure it pays off with these pedals. For a start, they weigh in at a very heavy 416g for the price, with the 266g (pedal only) Ti Axle Record Pro a toe curling £197.99.

And their short platform, with the locking mechanism just behind the axle and in the centre of the cleat, makes for a comparatively unstable feel, both on the outside edge and in-line.

On the bright side, Campagnolo’s bearing quality is gorgeous and, with a replaceable stainless-wear plate adding longevity, these should run and run for years. Disengagement tension can also be adjusted to a super soft level, which makes them potentially suitable for those with knackered ankles or those that are just nervous of clipless pedals.

Otherwise, it’s only really a front-runner for those desperate to have Campag collar and cuffs throughout.
