With the aim of creating the world’s lightest road bikes, Trek has launched its new Émonda line – topped by the SLR 10 which has a claimed frame weight of just 690g in 56cm sizing (and costs $15,749).

Previously seen at the Critérium du Dauphiné last month, the SLR 10 is touted by Trek to weigh 4.65kg for a complete build which includes SRAM Red 22 group set, Komm-Vor Plus saddle, Cane Creek AER headset, Speed Stop direct-mount brakes, Tune Skyline tubular rims and the new Bontrager XXX integrated bar/stem.

If that stretches the budget a little then the range also includes: the SLR 9 ($12K, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2); SLR 8 ($7,449, Shimano Dura-Ace); SLR 6 ($5,249); SL 8 ($4,519); SL 6 ($3,149); SL 5 ($2,629); S 6 ($2,629); S 5 ($2k); and S 4 ($1,649).
