To mark his final season as a pro cyclist, Scotland’s David Millar has been wearing some very special bike shoes – created by bike-mad fashion designer Paul Smith and fi’zi:k.

The ‘Eloquence of Movement’ designs celebrate the world’s most famous bike races like the Tour of Flanders, Milano-Sanremo and Critérium du Dauphiné. Each pair will be auctioned off at the end of the year, with proceeds going to UK charity the Small Steps Project.

Handmade in Italy from fine leather, they also include some distinctive Paul Smith touches such as the designer’s gold-embossed signature on the Tour of Benelux editions.

Unfortunately most of us won’t ever be able to get our hands on a pair, so we’ll have to make do with admiring the designs in this here gallery…
