Sealskinz Over Sock review

A refreshing break from the sea of neoprene that dominates the overshoe market, Sealskinz have broken the trend by offering oversocks that offer waterproofing as well as windproofing.

The stretch material makes them very easy to fit over your bike shoes, and the fit is snug enough that they don’t feel cumbersome. On cold, dry rides, we found them to be superb, keeping out wind well and keeping heat in.

In the rain, they’re adequate, but Sealskinz still haven’t solved the issue of keeping you dry when it’s really pouring down and your feet get wet no matter what.

But then saying that, we’ve never found an overshoe that totally solves that problem. Plus, the rain can, and will, seep in through the bottom of the shoes.

At £35 they’re competitively priced, and, for this tester at least, the styling makes them stand out from the crowd… in a good way. Longevity-wise, they’ve proved very durable to date.

Verdict: Stylish, warm, windproof and well-fitted overshoes, 89%
