Santini Guard bike jacket review

Santini Guard bike jacket review

Santini’s Guard was designed in conjunction with the Orica GreenEdge pro cycling team and, as you’d expect, is a real top-line piece of kit.

This bike jacket is close-cut and fits wonderfully, with a dropped back that helps to keep rain off your saddle and chamois.

On top of that, it’s fully water-resistant and keeps rain out really well, even down to the flap over the large rear pocket. It’s windproof too, and the fitted cuffs and collar help to keep body heat in and cold air out.

Worth bearing in mind is that Santini clothing has a traditionally Italian fit, so although we usually take a medium, we had to go up a size.

The only downside is the fact that the Guard only comes in black and, to compound the low-vis misery, has no reflective detailing.

Verdict: Superb-performing jacket, but a shame that it’s so low-viz, 86%
