Ale Winter Lightweight Jacket review

Ale are an Italian brand relatively new to the UK, but they’ve been making kit for various Italian domestic pro teams for a few years and have some really superb offerings in their current collection.

The lightweight winter jacket is a really good-looking bit of kit, but also quite a specific one.

And by that we mean that it’s cut more like a long-sleeved jersey than a jacket, sitting very close to the body, coming high at the front and dropped at the back.

We’d definitely choose this one for autumn and very mild winter days as it doesn’t offer a great deal of insulation.

But if you size up for a looser fit you could fit warmers underneath too, so it’d do the job when the weather dips below 10°C.

If you want to ride in relatively mild conditions this jacket is an ideal choice, but it’s expensive for a relatively niche item of clothing.

Verdict: Looks great, but not sure where it’d fit into our winter wardrobe, 78%
