The Shokz OpenRun Mini headphones are a better choice for running, especially outdoors, due to their bone-conduction design. This keeps them securely in place while keeping you more aware of your surroundings.

Shokz claims the running headphones’ IP67 waterproof rating makes them sweat-resistant, but not submergible, and they can play eight hours of music on a single charge.

Garmin Forerunner 255 Music

The Garmin Forerunner 255, usually priced at $399.99, is reduced to $249.99 – that’s a 38% discount on what’s already one of Garmin’s more affordable smart watches. 

The 40mm model offers a battery life of 14 days in smartwatch mode and 30 hours in GPS mode, sufficient for a full-distance triathlon. Its compact size ensures it feels light and comfortable while providing clear data on a bright color screen (without a touchscreen).

Storage for up to 500 songs and the ability to stream playlists from the likes of Spotify and Amazon Music meets multisport tracking, a race predictor, suggested workouts, and heart rate variability (HRV) for assessing training readiness. Standard Garmin features like Training Status, Training Effect, Performance Condition, and Recovery Time are also included. 

When we reviewed the solar version, we found the GPS and heart rate monitor to be reliable. 

Garmin Forerunner 955

• $499.99 $349.99 Save $150

The Garmin Forerunner 955 offers all the features a triathlete could need at a considerably lower price than the Fenix 7 Solar. And on Amazon Prime Day, it’s discounted by 30%.

The standout features of the Forerunner 955 include activity tracking across all triathlon  disciplines, Heart rate variability (HRV), reliable GPS with full-colour mapping, Training Readiness score (out of 100), a tactile touchscreen, ClimbPro functionality for real-time ascent information, and storage for up to 2,000 songs. It will also estimate your VO2 max and suggest daily workouts and training plans via Garmin Coach.

Battery life in smartwatch mode extends to 15 days and up to 42 hours in full GPS mode. It’s also lighter than the Fenix 7 Solar, though it may not feel quite as premium or robust.

Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2

Costing a heady $1,099.99 at full price, the Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 is about as high-tech as smartwatches come. On Amazon Prime Day, it’s nearly half price at $609.99. 

Added to the integrated LED flashlight to help you train at night, it has a huge 1.4″ AMOLED display to display a plethora of training data. Hill score assess your uphill running performance, endurance score takes into account how all your endurance training is impacting your fitness and sleep and health tracking is more advanced than on cheaper Garmin models. 

You can also dial in your training with the wrist-based running power, build muscle using the strength training features and perfect your races with the Pace Pro tech. What’s more, multi-band GPS should ensure that navigation is highly accurate. Run time is up to 31 days in smartwatch mode. 

Garmin vívoactive 5

• $299.99 $195 Save $104.99

The Garmin vívoactive 5 is a lifestyle, touchscreen smartwatch that’s lighter and arguably more discrete than some Garmin sports watches. At less than $200, this Prime Day deal looks good value. 

It boasts a vibrant 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen. Battery life is up to 11 days in smartwatch mode and 21 hours with GPS switched on. 

Although it lacks the detailed training metrics of the more sport-oriented Forerunner series, it majors on health and wellness monitoring including Body Battery, advanced sleep tracking with coaching and nap detection, HRV status, stress levels, heart rate, and blood oxygen (Pulse Ox). For activity tracking, it features over 30 built-in sports modes along with a wheelchair mode. 

Other technologies include smart notifications, music storage for offline listening, and Garmin Pay for contactless transactions.

Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Sapphire Solar

• $899.99 $549.99 Save $350

The Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Sapphire Solar is a top-tier multisport watch, with a high price along with stacks of features and a robust build. On account of this discount, it’s one of the best Amazon Prime Day Garmin deals we’ve spotted.

Its claimed battery life is 22 days in smartwatch mode with solar charging (18 days without) and 57 hours in GPS mode (stretching to 73 hours with solar).

A standout tool is Real-Time Stamina, designed to help athletes better pace themselves by estimating energy reserves, which we found to be accurate in our testing of the Fenix 7 Solar. The key difference is the Fenix 7S Pro’s built-in LED flashlight that you can use as a running light or front bike light. 

A touchscreen should boost usability and is complemented by physical buttons. It also packs in all essential activity tracking and metrics, along with accurate GPS and heart rate monitoring.

Garmin Instinct 2 Solar $399.99 $239

• $399.99 $239 Save $160.99

In our review of the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar, we argued it was already good value at $399.99. With the price slashed by 40% to $239, it’s one of the best Garmin deals on Amazon Prime Day.

Adequate solar charging can extend battery life in GPS mode to 48 hours and this watch gains several training features absent from its predecessor. We concluded heart rate and GPS accuracy were reliable, the latter being boosted by multi-GNSS support. 

It significantly undercuts the Fenix series while performing to a similar level, so the Instinct 2 Solar is well worth your money.

Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar

• $999.99 $599.99 Save $400

The Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar is a top-of-the-range GPS smartwatch with both touchscreen and button controls, plus smart features like notifications and music storage. It’s down by a huge 40% to $599.99 on Amazon Prime Day. 

Its large 51mm case houses a 1.4-inch display, surrounded by a Power Sapphire solar charging lens that augments battery life up to 37 days in smartwatch mode.

Its scratch-resistant sapphire display and titanium-bezeled, fibre-reinforced polymer case meet US military standards for durability, according to Garmin. Navigation is precise thanks to multi-band GNSS and preloaded TopoActive maps.

Beyond tracking dozens of sports, it offers advanced metrics like Hill Score, Endurance Score, and Training Readiness. Health monitoring is comprehensive too, covering everything from heart rate to sleep. Like other ‘Pro’ versions of Garmin watches, it has the built-in LED flashlight. 

Garmin Edge 530 $299.99 $213.99

• $299.99 $213.99 Save $86

The Garmin Edge 530 appeals to performance-driven cyclists at a lower price than the brand’s premium bike computers. Discounted by 29% on Amazon Prime Day, it now does so even more cheaply. 

It has a 2.6-inch color display (non-touchscreen) controlled by physical buttons, which some users prefer in wet conditions and when they’re wearing gloves.

Key features include speed, distance, power analysis, and advanced cycling dynamics. It can give you turn-by-turn navigation with preloaded Garmin Cycle Maps, including specific mountain bike features like Trailforks integration and MTB Dynamics (Grit, Flow, and Jump tracking).

The Edge 530 provides intelligent training insights such as ClimbPro, which details upcoming climbs, and calculates heat and altitude acclimation.

With a claimed 20-hour battery life (up to 40 in battery saver mode), ANT+, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity, it should seamlessly pair with sensors and upload activities to platforms like Garmin Connect and Strava. It also includes safety features like incident detection.
