Joe Beer’s 2012 Training Plan: Pt 2

Use this 12-week training plan together with Back to Basics, running each month in 220, to get you race ready for 2012

It doesn’t matter if you’re new to triathlon, have completed a few races or are a seasoned veteran who wants to mix up their training programme, there’s something here for you.

Don’t be fooled by the ‘Back to Basics’ title – this isn’t just for beginners and will make every triathlete take a hard look at the fundamentals of performance.

This is the second of four 12-week training plans that’ll help you peak for the 2012 race season. It’s aimed primarily at sprint and Olympic-distance triathletes with part two running from early February to the end of April.

Training comes to around 6-8hrs per week. The plan works in conjunction with 220 Triathlon, where many of the sessions featured here have been – or will be – explained in full.

Should you miss a session, don't panic! Simply replace the missed sessions with ones that you're weaker in.
