As the triathlon community descends on Hyde Park this week for the ITU World Championships, Britain's two brightest hopes have discussed the advantages of sibling ties in seeing off Spain's Javier Gomez.

Speaking to SportsBeat, Alistair Brownlee confirmed that he works in tandem with younger brother Jonathan to reduce the chance of them being overtaken by Gomez, currently third on the table with 4047 points.

Olympic gold medallist Alistair remains in the lead going into the elite men's final this Sunday (15 September) with 4340 points, while reigning World Champion Jonathan is in second place with 4195 points.

The ITU has built a podium simulator to help fans work out who is in with a shot of the podium in both men and women's races.

Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee are BT Ambassadors. They will compete to become the 2013 World Triathlon Champion at Hyde Park, London on Sunday 15th September
