Each team had to traverse 26 islands and sea stretches across the Stockholm archipelago, involving 65km of running and 10km of swimming.
Among the athletes racing this year were Pippa and James Middleton, siblings of the Duchess of Cambridge, who finished the course in just over 13hrs.
Kudos to Swedish team Addnature Osterjosimmet, who completed the infamous 1.4km swim leg known as ‘pig swim’ in just 23mins, and to overall winners Team Head Swimming, who crossed the line in 8:29:11.
“The conditions were tough,” said Team Head Swimming’s Bjorn Englund. “I don’t think the waves have been this big in my seven years here.”
