Just received the bike for my wife. It looks fantastic and if it were only bigger I could tell you how it rides. The wheels are the 50's which look fantastic with the white hubs. They feel very light. She is also getting a set of 101 and 82 for racing. I have to wait a little longer for my bike though.

Anyone else in for this race. Entries are now open on line. Cheap at €135. Great flat course but maybe a little wind.

I signed up yesterday and also sneaked my wife onto the entry list. I better tell her soon.

They are very nice bikes - in fact I have just bought 4 Carbon Pro road bikes and 3 stealth TTs. Oh and also 3 Alloy bikes. I know a little excessive but they are for test and rentals etc. I even put on the Ergomo upgrade on the road bikes and the wheel upgrade on the stealths.
My wife if picking her stealth up form TCR next week - it is pearl white with pink decals - perfect for a girl.

Anyway, will let you know how they ride very soon

16 or 17 strokes is not bad in a 25m pool. I was counting this morning and I was doing average 16.

I have started to concentrate on the roll and pulling as I roll. This allows much more forward motion while my recover elbow is high in the air before entering the water at full stretch. I keep my head low in the water as the do in TI but my arms are totally different.

I still do not see the nenefit of entering as soon as possible but then everyone to their own.

It is a tpe of technique but not the only one. I agree with most of the swim phase, i.e. body straight, low head etc but I disagree with the early hand entry and pulling only when the hand is 6 to 8 inches below the surface. I pull as soon as my hand reaches the surface and my hand is fully extended. I also agrre wiht the TI roll which I am practising at the moment.

If it is helping then great - by the way was that 17 strokes counting both arms or just the one arm.

I don't think there are any really. The ITU races would be very popular and where they have been before i.e. Salford. But with Ironman there is a specific world championship race and this is Kona which just happens to be the location (or near enough) for the first ever tri. So it is special.

But for other distances it is not the same - me thinks [:)]

I rode the stage on Tuesday (just recovered to be able to write ;)). Very tough course and in the summer it will be very hot.
