i've signed up for ironman france

france is likely to be hotter and its also earlier in the year so more training needed when weather not so good see conversation

yes i beat my 3hr target with 2:56:52 so new PB

enjoyed it though i too was disappointed with the amount of traffic on roads for cycling

could also have been improved with distance markers every 5km on the bike which would of made things a bit easier as i didnt check my bike computer at the start so didnt know how far id done/ still to go

also dont understand why we wore timing chips but dont get our transition splits

plenty of room for improvement though before next event london olympic in august see conversation

feel ok about it and hoping to go under 3hrs though run could be a bit of a problem, training nearly done, one easy swim tonight then resting

hopefully it doesnt rain see conversation

i asked one of the coaches at my tri club and he said he inflates his to 110-115 for races though if its wet then about 105 and also slightly lower if its a really hot day as the pressure will build up anyway see conversation

if its your first half then completing it is very good achievement

i did a half last year in 6hrs 48 mins and was very near the back see conversation

definately with a club, the coaches there give you lots of tips especially re technique and plus it helps with motivation if you know that there are lots of people going i feel less likely to skip sessions see conversation

hound dog,

i read in 220 magazine a few months back that it is a myth that need to do a marathon before an ironman mainly because of the amount of recovery needed

however if you are in no rush to do an ironamn then a marathon may be a good idea see conversation
