Ok, so for ironman want to wear swim trunks for the swim, bibshorts and jersey for the bike and not sure what for the run,. Question is is it accepted form to get bollock naked in chaniging tent whilst changing from one to t'other?

OK, so I am currently working for £6.50 an hour and wondering whether a bike upgrade is necessary/worthwhile.
Currently riding a Felt F90 with clip on profile tri-bars - estimate the weight to be somewhere around 11kg, triple chainset, 8 gears - sora.
my options are - spend nothing - take a few days off here and there to squeeze in more training and spend nothing on bike
upgrade - a whole minefield here, am thinking first upgrade would be chainset/bb, probably want to accompany this with lever upgrade - 8 to 9 or 10 gear setup. Have tiagra rear mech so thinking tiagra chainset, casette, levers, front mech and chain. Probs about £150 to gain an extra gear and hopefully lose 500 grams or so.
New bike now - could use for last 2 races of season - know a mate who can get me a deal on fuji aloha 08 costing approx £750. Pros - lose 2kg, gain some aero advantage, keep old bike for training/commuting.
Cons - not sure about compact chainset, may have to change, will def have to nick brakes off old bike if 220 review anything to go by, only 9 gears. Lighter options available.
New bike later - wait for sales/save up for something really shiny, sell my soul and abandon any idea of a social life while I save.
Apologies for random stream of thought nature of this post but I am sure there are points on there everybody will have opinions on. I know there is a whole spectrum of people in triathlon from all the gear and no idea to rediculously fit individuals still pounding away on 10 year old steeds which do their best to destroy their times. ANd would like to avoid being either of these!
I do a 1'10" 40KM on a good day.

Don't know about tattoos but any cuts or grazes i get get covered with spray plaster so i can get back in the pool straight away, it claims to be waterproof.

Had gait analysis - I overpronate a fair bit, have been running happily in the shoes for several months, have just changed to elastic laces as well - will experiment with different shoes/going back to normal laces etc.

Have recently (last 2 runs) found that my lower leg becomes painful during/after running, particularly when running uphill. Notice pain when climbing stairs up to three days after runs. Pain is at bottom of calf muscle/top of achilles but is only present on one leg. Am going to try different running shoes for next run to see if this alleviates at all.
Anybody else had similar, know any fixes?

Why is it that the majority of the top pro's seem to ride road bikes, sometimes without even having clip on tri-bars? Surely they could go faster in proper aero position with deep section wheels? The only distance where the pro's seem to all be kitted out to the max is ironman. Any ideas?

another week gone, another lottery ticket which has become a useless piece of paper BUT i was thinking of perfect bike if lottery was won. Was thinking Zipp 404 front, 808 rear, campag record everything else, not sure about perfect frameset or cockpit, p3c looks a bit funky but so does felt b2 and cockpit has bewildering array of possibilities. Anyone here had the chance to ride izalco chrono, as judging by their other bikes you are sure to get at least £6000 worth of kit in this £4000 bike.

At the moment my trusty steed is only a £500 machine so think I may wait out til the next upgade but E&I seems the way forwards.
Thanks for all the help
