10.8km. Prob best to go anti clockwise simply cos it makes it easier at all the roundabouts. but if little traffic (ie v early morning or early evening) then wont make much difference. enjoy! im hoping to get there at least twice if i dont do london to brighton. see conversation

I've got a 100km cycle in a few weeks time - what should I be looking to take onboard during the ride?

Was going with a couple of bottles of energy drink, an energy bar and a couple of energy gels?

Hi, just wondered what time i should be aiming for, for the New Forest Middle Distance Tri in Sept?

Only ever done one tri - London Olympic last yr - and managed 2hrs 29mins (32min swim, 1hr 6min cycle, 45min run) which was quicker than expected. see conversation

thanks for all the advice - i have invested in some muc off, some gt85 and some chain lubricant from my favourite website wiggle. guess theres no excuses now, i just have to actually get off the sofa and clean the bike after rides i guess! see conversation

Ok so its not quite as bad as it sounds... but since buying my bike about 6 months ago i have done nothing to it in terms of maintenance. i ride almost every weekend, and more regularly in the summer when i can get to Richmond Park in the evening, and have recently bought a turbo trainer that i will be using about twice a week.

what things should i be doing on a regular basis to help maintain my bike, and what cheap (ive spent so much on tri gear over the past 6 months that i cant face spending loads more on bike maintenance kit - its not as cool!) products do i need?

might just be the course and the fact that london was slightly shorter than 40km - i did 1hr 6 mins at london, and then did the south coast classic as part of a relay team (so only had to worry about the bike and didnt leave anything in the tank) and could only manage 1hr 11mins.

the south coast classic was 12 laps with sharp u-turns at either end of the course which caused you to slow completely so think that helped to make me slower. see conversation

Live in Earlsfield so a meet in Wimbledon is good for me.

it was quite good at the london tri - just as we were waiting to get into the docks the announcer person asked everyone in the wave to put their hands up if it was their first triathlon... at least 50% (probably more) put their hands up so you're in the same boat as everyone else - everyone else will be just as nervous! see conversation
