Cologne 226 2nd September has a terrible rep here in Germany - don't do this as yer first, no way!!
Challenge Roth is yer only man! Fully booked up, BUT they re-open the registration of December 6th for a limited number - u might get in.
I dud my first IM in Roth this year, it was AMAZING.

I have really wide feet....I sometimes have problems getting running shows, not all shoes come in my width.
I also have specialized bike shoes, but 1-2 sizes too big, no hassle with them!

yep, you'd be surprised at how well it works - almost no pauses and great quality.
Time to start getting a computer hooked up to the tv in the living room!

I wear a bandana under my helmet......it then doubles as sun protection on the run.
Works really well and I look bad ass on the run!
Without it I simply cannot cycle.

here in Germany Cube is a mainstream brand....they're great bikes.

there's more to speed than aero.....
the quality of the fame, wheels and transmission is also v. important.
I notice this when climbing, my good carbon bike is fair bit faster than my old relatively cheap Alu frame bike.
I can see my alu frame bike flexing (especially when on the turbo), the carbon frame is solid as a rock (well almost...)

that bike will make u MUCH faster....
I have a Specialized Transition with the same wheels and I easily gain 2kph if not more in my local half IM race.
Get the bike immediately but make sure it fits!!

I have some Gore shorts - terrible.....the seams on the inside are rough and they can really dig into your skin. Might get some Assos then....

Doing Roth in less than 4 weeks, can't wait!
I have a problem though, I sweat a LOT. I manage to consume 5 litres if water and Nuun when out on a 150k+ ride if it is warm - I live in Germany, so it's been 25°C+ often here lately. I then need salt tabs and a lot more water when I get home - if I don't do all that, I cannot sleep at night, have thirst attacks, need to go to the toilet a lot etc....I have it figured out now....thank god.
(It's gotten better, I'm 6'1 and 85kg, used to be 90kg, I had more trouble before)
Anyway, I need a full tube of Nuun on the bike leg, if it's warm. You guys got any idea how I can carry that and easily get the tabs out to add to the water I get at the aid stations??

hey - enjoy!
Did it last year. Weather was terrible.......so terrible that my brake pads almost wore down completely in the lashing rain.
Assuming you have better weather this year, you will have a blast. It's pretty hilly, 1400Hm of climbing (as far as I can remember) but it's not the nightmare many told me it would be. The first 40k or so have some prety scary descents with hainpin turns!
The run is 4 loops around a park in the city, most of it is nice, but it's also not flat. This is what got me, my legs were knackered from the but slight incline on the way out of the city.
