Yes I had this problem too - always (well twice) took too much stuff. Luckily I have a car so could leave it there - not sure what I would have done without my car...
Also - I have a fairly BIG transition box, so can use that for dumping gear in... see conversation

I really like the idea that you marshall one year so you can enter the next. This seems good, as it must be hard getting all those marshalls to stand around all day making the competitors comfy.
The only drawback is the expense particularly if it's abroad...
But I suppose two holidays in Kona would not be a bad thing :) see conversation

I got a t-shirt and a medal for finishing the Little Woody saturday just gone. I gave the medal to my 3 yr old daughter as a present when i got home!
I used to do mountain bike enduros and a t-shirt was often the "prize" then - it does get a bit tiresome doesn't it?
How about some more original ideas - I like the transition towel idea... but then you'd only need one! see conversation

I would only add - do add a weights session if you can. This will raise your metabolism and allow you to burn fat whilst you sleep. You don't need to go overboard but it's non-cardio and easy on the body (apart from the aches when you start).
Good luck with it and welcome to a new you! see conversation

i've just bought a big purple one from Woolworths £6!
It's big enough for two sets of shoes (bike shoes and running shoes) plus a towel, t-shirt and whatever else really.
My 1st tri this weekend so haven't tried it out yet - hope i'm allowed to use it!
It's bright purple so should also act as a beacon to help me find my bike in T1! see conversation

I too had some chafing from my first time wearing my wetsuit - but this is a good thing. Now I know where exactly to apply the bodyglide and subsequent swims in the suit were chafe free!
Gotta love that bodyglide.
Did the same thing with my bike shoes and running shoes wearing no socks. see conversation

ok i posted this q in another board but hid it in an event message to which no-one responded :(
Anyway - i'll try here may get more luck :)
Does anybody know how soon before an event you should hear something from the organisers? I mean - what time is the start, what's my number etc?
Or do i just turn up very early on the day and wait?
My event is a week Saturday (9th Aug) and i've not heard anything yet... see conversation
