Just read that as part of his sponsorship deal with Radioshack, Lance Armstrong is to race in Hawaii next year. According to his coach, he won't be there just to win his age group either!

Thnks for your reply. I have had a look at the Total Immersion site, looks very informative.
Will keep plugging away and try to get down to the pool more often.

I wouldn't be worried. I'm 16 stone and have an ancient Specialized in bright green! Most bike clubs are very friendly and don't mind who rides with them. They can give you a lot of help and advice. Just give them a ring first and have a chat. Then when you turn up, its like you know someone already.

My son (11) and I (41) want to take up tri's next year, so we have been going for some swimming lesson once a week. the distance is getting there (about 400m) but not all at once. I have to stop every length or two. A few times I breathe right and roll etc and it feels effortless, then it all goes to pot and I'm taking in water!
We can only manage swimming once a week at the moment due to costs. Would be better if I didn't pay the teacher £10 for the lesson each week but we have leant so much from her.
Can we do it by swimming once a week? And does it get easier to do more distance? I'm sure we will be on the startline next year. Does seem a long way off though!

Kestrel used to sponsor some big name tri athletes and come with a good name as far as I know. There was a lovely 2009 SL Talon on Ebay in the US. Would like one of those.

Well good luck and I'm sure all the training will pay off for you.

Wow, those Fenix lights look good and are a lot cheaper than the "proper" bike lights! Thanks for the heads up.

As the nights are drawing in earlier and faster, I am looking for a front light for road and off road use.
I was looking at £100 budget and the Hope Vision 1 looks good.
Anybody have this light or can recommend anything else please?
