I am sure saddles arent meant to be comfy!

You just need to find the one for you.
There is some good advice above in the thread! see conversation

Have you considered hire for your first wettie?

FIT IS KING and if your going to do and ironman in it then fit is KING more so.

On line size charts are ok. Just remember when it turns up it supposed to be tight! see conversation

I was told by my local running shop to only wash in the insoles and not the trainers. The plastic bits that run around the back and in the sole get damaged by washing machines. They told me just to use a clothe to clean them. see conversation

ok, welcome to triathlon and its ever growing popularity.

1. Swim, I have never rented a wetsuit but lots of people do. It will cost you around £50-£70. Just make sure you get the size right. A bad fitting suit is bad. Fit is as we say KING!

2. Bike, yes fitting slick tyres to your MTB is a great idea. As for looking silly or daft! Who cares, you are out there doing it. Clip on bars would get you in a better position but I would try without first to see how much you like tri and put the money towards a road bike later.

There is a ton of kit you could buy and most of it looks great but has no effect on speed.
I would however look into getting a number belt.

Good luck.

Off thread slightly, but i read somewhere that s bend areo bars are not great for your wrists and forearms. You run the risk of arm problems due to the angles. see conversation
