Gore AIR 2in1 Shorts – review
Top-notch run shorts with lots of comfort and functionality
Remember that early-90s’ fad when footballers donned cycling shorts under their footie garb? The AIR 2in1s continue this trend, albeit in a less garish way (although you can opt for a bright green pair), with tights on the inside intended to prevent chafing and aid comfort.
With minimal seams and a smooth elastane/polyester mix they succeed in this, with nary a sore patch to be seen. We’ve used Gore’s AIR 2.0 shorts for a while and, while comfy, they do look a bit like a skirt – not ideal when running through some of Bristol’s less desirable areas. Thankfully the 2in1s don’t fall into this trap, with a clear divide between each leg.
The storage options are good, with four loops on the waist holding our gels, two internal pockets suitable for bars, and a zipped back pocket big enough for keys, cash and (just about) a smartphone. Breathability was good too, with our only issue being the floppy waistband.
