Over the last four years, FuelBelt has done a great job of aligning its products with some of the world’s best Ironman triathletes, including Chris McCormack and Chrissie Wellington. The Revenge R20 is a variation on its classic model, and has the capacity to carry two 7oz (just over 200ml) sports cap bottles, and also features a small zip-top pocket.
The idea is that it’s an accessible and well balanced way to carry drinks on the run and, in this respect, splitting 400ml over two smaller bottles works well – better than a single 500ml one. The belt’s adjustable (one size fits just about all), comfortable, secure and doesn’t chafe, even on long sessions.
The main criticism is that there’s no capacity for carrying gels (the pouch is good for salt tablets, a car key or cash, but not much more) – some elastic loops could easily solve this and make it far more versatile.
