I think this is the key, and exactly 'why' things happen is still not known definatively.
It comes down to us age groupers adopting elite training methods, when as age groupers who are simply wanting to do as well as we can - a good nights sleep, balanced healthy diet and training regularly and consistantly will elicit decent gains.
If you're planning on winning your AG, getting on the podium or intend to earn a living from this sport by all means turn to science.
