How far do you travel?

Postby bryan » Wed Sep 08, 2010 10:48 am

Hey all,

I am a bit of a tart for shiney tri toys. Just wondering if i am the only saddo that travels hours to buy tri kit. I usually drive to from Cambridge t hampton court to visit sigma! Any1 else in the same boat? Or are you all lucky enough to live near a tri store?

Most of my shopping is done one click away as being in the wilds of Lincolnshire there isn't a lot about. Other than that I have bought 2 wetsuits and other bits from stands at events.

I think that if I travelled any distance I would have an overwhelming urge to buy something expensive that I don't really need to justify the journey, but then isn't that what triathlon is about
It seemed like a good idea at the time!!

Clocking online generally. But have detoured off motorway for a 50 mile round trip to go to TriUK, and taken wife and daughter 60 miles to visit bath so I could also got to Total Fitness Bath, but both of these trips have been to get shoes, so need to try on before I buy.
2010: White Horse Challenge, Dragon Ride, RoW Sprint, IM UK 70.3, Eastnor Castle Middle Distance, IM UK: All boxes ticked
2011: Now to go faster. Then IronMan Wales came along, so the speedwork can wait until 2012

I am lucky enough to live 20 minutes drive from TriUK! Then seem to get my wages paid direct and leave me enouigh to buy food afterwards. LOL, maybe they could sell food as well at a high price!!!!!

I'm very lucky in that there are a few shops in London that I visit, they seem to know me now so i'm just waiting for the offer of paid employment for the time I am there...i doubt it though.
Oh and online a lot too.
Run hard, run fast, don't die...convince the GAT to let me do another IM next year
