November would be the start of the duathlon season.

That's all of us then
2010: White Horse Challenge, Dragon Ride, RoW Sprint, IM UK 70.3, Eastnor Castle Middle Distance, IM UK: All boxes ticked
2011: Now to go faster. Then IronMan Wales came along, so the speedwork can wait until 2012

Decent, I think most people doing 400m would be happy with that.

Unfortunately Tri, thats my 400m time. I'd be well happy with that time for 750!! Tbh the Tri's I have done have all been 400m apart from an Olympic I did which was 1500m. I think the main problem for me being a newcomer is knowing how much energy to conserve during the swim so I am ok'ish (not about to have a heart attack) when i get on the bike!!

We could probably start a new thread on the issues that you will have with Triathlon.

It is a foregone conclusion that you will fall over in the first few attempts at clipping in and out. Get used to it and accept that it will happen again at the most stupid locations in front of everyone - most likely traffic lights.

Accept the fact that you will become hooked on carbon. Black naked most likely and that you will have to sell your family and remortgage your house 3 times to pay for it all.

Accept the fact the nice clothes you used to buy are replaced with tri-suits, bike gear, bike shoes, helmets

Water bottle collections become the norm. You can never have enough.

Your vanity will dissapear and you will think nothing of lashing on nutcream in full view of anyone

You will need to learn that anal devastation will happen - always just before the race.

You will look stupid in a wet-suit, accept this and you will be fine

The obiligatory mid pea fart. This has been well documented on the "other forum"

As you can see triathlon has many dark arts and going through your first season you will find that the turn to the dark side will happen. Just accept it like second nature.

Tbh I think that my turn to the Dark Side is nearly complete, however I am still to encounter the "anal devastation"....sounds pretty interesting!!

I have actually come to terms with looking like Dafyd in my tri suit and next season I look forward to uncovering more personal discrepancies that the lovely sprot of Tri seems to uncover every week!! :P

Anal Devestation....

You have to accept this... it will happen. Regardless of how many times you race this will happen. Its one of those facts of tri.
