Mrs. Roberts needs a bike....can anyone help?

As i say in the title, Mrs. Roberts (Sara) would like to get a bike for general fitness and possibly some duathlons!
I think a hybrid would be a great start but failing that a racing bike. Or even a light mounting bike i suppose, but it must not be ‘cheap crap’, as she has one of those already!
So…..does anyone have one or know of one that might fit the bill, or can you recommend a bike.
She’s not tall! About 5′3″, so it must be quite small!
Any help or advise would be great.
