Get a bird’s-eye view of this French-Canadian city along Canada’s first urban zipline circuit. This adrenaline-filled adventure sees you climb the Old Clock Tower before sending you flying across the Old Port.

In the winter months, head out of the city to the Mont Tremblant Mega Zipline (shown above in summer), which takes you through a maple forest with rocky cliffs and views of the Laurentian Mountains. Start with a showshoe hike on Mont-Catherine to reach two of Canada’s longest ziplines.

3. Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) & yoga, Parc Jean Drapeau

Try your hand at paddleboarding against the beautiful scenery of Parc Jean Drapeau. Catch a yoga or fitness class or just have a relaxed paddle along the Saint-Laurent River, which surrounds the island of Montreal.

4. Urban surfing, Maeva Surf Centre

The first indoor surf centre in Canada, this is ideal for beginners or the more advanced surfer. Enjoy a surf session unencumbered by weather or climate. Situated just across the Prairies River from Montreal.

One of the largest indoor rock climbing gyms in the world, a visit here will provide hours of fun and challenges. Along with the typical climbing and bouldering walls, it offers a new Acro-Parc, high ropes course, and zip line. With the option to take a beginners course or explore at your own pace, this climbing centre is suitable for all abilities.

6. Cycling, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve

Regularly open to the public, this 4,361m long circuit was originally a car-racing track that hosted Formula 1 races from 1978. Its smooth asphalt surface provides the perfect conditions for high-speed tempo training or just a quick speedy ride.
